As a lawyer and real estate broker, Geoffrey Payne has been acquiring, developing and managing real estate projects for more than 30 years.

Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree in business administration-finance from Cal State Fullerton, Mr. Payne served for several years with a multinational company in various financial management and accounting positions. During that time, he obtained his juris doctor from Loyola Law School, eventually becoming partner in a well-known Orange County law firm. As a practicing lawyer, Mr. Payne represented banks, lenders, real estate developers, family trusts and other real estate and corporate interests. 

Since 1999, he has been developing and managing real estate projects on a full-time basis. As president of Tahiti Partners, Mr. Payne has recently overseen the development of more than 100 homes in Coachella Valley, Calif., subdivisions of commercial and residential lots, and commercial and apartment projects throughout the western United States.

In addition to Tahiti Partners, Mr. Payne is the broker and a partner of Payne/Roland & Company, a real estate brokerage in Long Beach, and broker and principal of GJ Property Services, Inc., a commercial property management company based in Long Beach for more than 30 years. He manages numerous commercial and residential properties in metropolitan Los Angeles. 

Mr. Payne has presented to many real estate groups, including the Institute of Real Estate Management, Building Owners and Managers Association International and the State Bar of California. He has led a number of classes, including one on investing in apartment buildings and written articles on commercial leases and commercial real estate transactions.

In the community, Mr. Payne has been involved with the International City Theatre; the Long Beach Grand Prix Foundation; and Cedar House, a center for abused children, where he served as president and a member of its board. At Cal State Fullerton, he not only serves on the Philanthropic Foundation Board of Governors, but also is a member of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Dean's Advisory Board and the college's Real Estate and Land Use Institute Advisory Board.
