Scott Coler ’85

Chair, Finance and Investment Committee

President
Capital Pacific Real Estate

Having spent most of his career with Capital Pacific — marketed as Capital Pacific Homes since it formed in 1991, Scott Coler is a 30-plus year veteran of residential homebuilding. He rose to division president of the Las Vegas division of the firm, then returned to lead in the growth and expansion of the company's Southern California operations during the mid-2000's, where at peak it generated approximately $200 million in annual revenues and built and closed 500 homes per year. Through the Great Recession, he restructured and recapitalized the company as Capital Pacific Real Estate, Inc., retained key management and continued building and pursuing new residential opportunities adapted to the start of a new housing cycle.

Mr. Coler has overseen the building of more than 3,000 homes and approximately $1.5 billion in revenues.

The proud CSUF business alumnus has served as past president and a sponsoring board member of the College of Business and Economics Executive Council, and is a board member of the Real Estate & Land Use Institute. He was recently appointed to the Dean's Advisory Board and has been active in not only the college's annual Professor for a Day, but mentors students and helps with fundraising.
